Another South African record was shattered at the 2014 Windpompfees, which was held from 1-3 May 2014 in Naboomspruit.
The worsbraai was one of the main events on the Windpompfees 2014. Once the record was confirmed and as has now become customary, the prepared boerewors was given to 13 beneficiaries which consisted of old age homes and children’s homes in Mokopane, Mookgophong, Modimolle, Bela Bela and Pretoria with help of Afriforums Helpende hand.
Transvaal Agricultural Union, Potgietersrus District Agricultural Union and Meat City were behind the record breaking event, with CEOCO being a brand sponsor of the event. This was part of a countrywide campaign of the TAU SAS to educate the public about the roll a farmer plays in food production for the nation and to highlight the importance of the agricultural sector in the South African economy as has been highlighted in the slogan: “Eaten Today? Thank the farmer.”
