Central Edible Oils (Pty) Ltd bought the Delmas Plant from GR8 Holdings (Pty) Ltd with effect from 16 March 2015 with the view to enter the Soya Bean Extruded Oil Market. Our plant has three pressers and six extruders.
Central Edible Oils (Pty) Ltd purchases the raw Soya Beans from the local farmers and traders in the area to produce Extruded Soya Bean Oil Cake and Crude Degummed Soya Bean Oil.
Our specifications for the purchase of Soya Beans are:-
Soya Bean as per Agricultural Product Standard Act, 1990 as amended
Quality: Grade SB1, in accordance with RSA Grading specifications
Quality: Clean Seed Basis
Moisture: Maximum moisture 12.5% or less
Foreign Matter: Maximum foreign matter 4% - To be rejected if abov
Our specifications for Extruded Soya Bean Oil Cake is:-
Protein Basis 43%, minimum 41% allowance of 1:1 below 41% and rejected below 40%
Moisture Basis 9%, maximum 11% with allowance 1:1
Fibre Basis 5%, maximum 6% allowance of 1:1 above 6% and rejected above 7%
Urease Activity: Min 0.05 – Max 0.20
Fat Basis 8%, minimum 7%, allowance 1:1 below 7% and rejected below 6%
Our specifications for Crude Degummed Soya Bean Oil is:-
Free Fatty Acid (expressed as Oleic, molecular weight 282) Basis 1%
Moisture & Volatile Matter Max 0.20%
Impurities (Insoluble in Petrol Ether) Max 0.10%
Lecithin (expressed as Phosphorus) Basis 0.02% up to 0.025% permitted
Sediment (Gardner Break Test) Max 0.10%
Unsaponifiable Matter (test as per N.S.P.A) Max 1.5%
Colour in 1” Lovibond Cell Not darker than 50 Yellow & 5 Red
Oil With a flashpoint below 250F (121C) rejected
The fact that our Soya Bean Oil is not chemically processed ensures that it has a higher digestible protein and the particular value is that the urease acitivty is lower than 0.1%
